In his announcement Torvalds appreciated the fact that the latest release candidate looked calmed till Saturday.   

Monday, November 10, 2014 Since last two weeks, Linus Torvalds was not very satisfied with the Linux 3.18 kernel developments. But this weekend's release, 3.18-rc4 has finally made him happy as there has been a slowdown in the changes for the Linux 3.18.

In his announcement Torvalds appreciated the fact that the latest release candidate looked calmed till Saturday when people started forcing for more changes in the fourth weekly release candidate. But till now everything is looking fair for the Linux 3.18 kernel.

In the past week, the release candidate had almost all the driver fixes through architecture packages and file-system updates. There are loads of exciting changes in the Linux 3.18 overall and it's packed with tons of new features. It has also been codenamed as Diseased Newt.
