Have you been fond of coding since a very young age? Then you must have
a thought in your mind that whatever you know now, if you'd have known
earlier. At a very young age we normally think less about our career.
But if we follow some simple practices from our very first day of coding
then the game would become simpler and more interesting. So, all
aspiring programmers, go through these tips, for your own good and some
better life in future:

#Take Names
At young ages, people normally hate to
think much and share a friendly relationship with computers. Though you
might be meeting a lot of influential people from the industry, you
never remember any of them, or keep any business card. In the past
looking for a job was not very simple for any developer, who knows basic
syntax and how to search. More importantly, meeting the right people at
the right point of time is quite important to build a strong career.
Timing and luck are always important but making one's own luck is more
necessary.
So take note of whosoever you meet at large
gatherings, especially if someone interests you, and don't forget your
friends. Because opportunity comes with anyone, anytime, you never know.
#Problem Solving
It's a struggle at the
very beginning period, though later it may appear natural later. Just
remember never fall in love with any theory or problem. Choose three
theories and try to prove them wrong. Also, try to innovate alternative
theories. Problem solving is the same thing what you learned in your
seventh or eighth grade or whenever you have learnt simple algebra.
Remove all the variables and then solve for X.
#Pick your language or other technical specialties based on the market and your career goals
You
must do what you want to do in your life but is there any particular
language there with which you can spend your entire life? Pick the
language logically to grow in a booming market. Major infrastructures
are in the making but there are lots of business opportunities now for
developers. You should show your passion and enthusiasm but personally
you should be very cool while making any business decision.
#There is relatively little real innovation in the software side of the industry compared to popular perception.
If
you are working for software you must know the most common practice.
Normally vendors rename everything and resell them with new names.
Sometimes a software may sound completely new to you but if you are
surrounded by some veteran people, then just look at their eyes for your
lack of knowledge. Some innovations are always there, those are also
nothing but combination of older technologies.
#Think in terms of a career, not a series of jobs
Stop
job-hopping for ridiculous issues. Sometimes you become part of bigger
organisations with a notion that you have cracked a jackpot. But the
truth is that it's not very easy to create an impact in the IT sector
from a big company, as opportunities to learn are most of the time very
limited.
#Work more than 40 hours per week
That
doesn't mean you should die working but make a personal investment in
your career. If you want to learn and make your career stronger only if
you are paid for that by your boss, then you will have very limited
options. Your boss will never train you to make sure that you have more
options now.
#Programming is not hard unless you make it hard
People
usually mess up with software development just like old days.
Programming is all about reading, concentration and logic. There are
lots of books, courses and also patterns to tell you how to do
programming. Now the hardest part is coordinating with other people on
any scale, no doubt.
# Learn to communicate
You
need to write proper English, and if you are inefficient then take a
writing course. If you are unable to communicate verbally, then also
take a course, practice in front of a mirror and attend some meetings to
learn. Communications skills is the most important thing.
Get set, ready and go. Enjoy your career in programming now.
