Thursday, October 30, 2014 The IT giant, Hewlett-Packard Company (HP) has developed a new all-in-one PC with 3D scanner and projector packed together. The new desktop has been named as ‘Sprout’ and has gone on sale from Wednesday onwards. The company has also announced that it will also begin sharing the 3D printing technologies which it has been developing since years.

The new built-machine by HP will allow the users to input their ideas via wide mat akin to a giant mousepad resting in front of the video monitor, eliminating the use of keyboard and mouse. Through this board, anything sketched or written by the user would be captured by sensors in the mat, and also anything placed on the top of the mat would be photographed or scanned by the overhead camera, thereby would transform anything into digital content.

It came as the biggest transformation from the traditional style of computers. HP executives demonstrated about how different items ranging from pen to cup could be scanned using the technology. It will come with different apps like Dreamworks Animation, Skype and Evernote pre-installed in it.

HP hinted about its entry into 3D printing tech, however, the tech would come in to action after the feedback and refinement process would be completed, suspected to come out till 2016. HP has named its technique as “multi jet fusion” since it deploys a series of printing jets spraying multiple chemical agents simultaneously. HP also claims it to be cheaper then already prevailing technologies.
